The Key to the taste of KEY COFFEE is to always aim for the highest quality. We protect the real taste of coffee.
And we use our skills and senses to refine it.
Liquoring
Liquoring

The best way to judge the quality of coffee is to roast it and extract its taste, aroma, and body. At KEY COFFEE, we repeat liquoring until we’re satisfied with the results at each stage of the coffee production process to ensure total quality control. In practice, tests are carried our at the plantation, before shipment, and on arrival in Japan. Of course, laboratory tests are particularly strict before and after roasting in the factory. Both our pure origin and blended coffees are selected and checked before becomig genuine KEY COFFEE coffee, with the quality and taste that the label guarantees.

The scientific resource behind the High Quality Policy of KEY COFFEE is the coffee laboratory, which is an integral part of our operations. Here, basic studies, applied research, analysis and development of new technologies and scientific methods are carried on using various advanced techniques. These tasks are important for actually defining high quality. Today, we’re applying coffee science to investigate the essence of coffee, and to create subtle new tastes.

Processes of operation A Quality Comes First System has been established at KEY COFFEE factories by introducing technologies and equipment that extract the best taste from green beans and help retain their quality. In the roasting process, which is particularly important, experts do not just rely entirely on equipment, but use their own experience and hand-on skills to control the roasting process. They take into account the type and features of particular type of green beans, and the delicate nature of coffee as an agricultural product. Liquoring are repeated to ensure that stable quality is always maintained. These systems are used for the production of small quantities of many product variations designed to meet diversified consumer demand. The philosophy of “Using the best materials” may seem to be very simple, but to put it into practice requires KEY COFFEE, dedicated to the creation of delicate coffee flavors.
